1.         What are cookies?

Cookies are data files sent from a website or its provider to your browser and stored on your device's hard drive, often containing a unique identifier.

The duration for which cookies are stored on your browsing device depends on whether they are "persistent" cookies or "session" cookies. Session cookies remain on your device until you stop browsing. Persistent cookies remain on your browsing device until they expire or are deleted.

So-called "first-party cookies" are cookies provided by the entity operating the domain from which the cookie is served. Therefore, Harara's own cookies are "first-party cookies." If you allow others to use cookies through Harara's website or app, those cookies are so-called "third-party cookies."

2.         Other similar tracking technologies we use

Cookies are not the only way we recognize or track users of our services. We may occasionally use other similar technologies. These technologies include web beacons ( also known as pixel tags, web bugs, or GIFs ), JavaScript , entity tags, or HTML5 local storage. A web beacon is a tiny graphic image, just one pixel in size, that can be delivered to your computer as part of a web page request, within an app, in an advertisement, or in an HTML email message . Pixels are used to obtain information from your device, such as the type of device and operating system, IP address, and time of visit. They are also used to provide and read cookies in your browser. This information is used to improve your experience on our site, particularly to evaluate and enhance the functionality of our site and to provide content tailored to your interests. JavaScript is a code snippet embedded in various parts of a website or application that facilitates various operations, such as speeding up the update rate of certain features or monitoring the usage of various online components. Entity tags are a mechanism in HTTP code that stores or "caches" parts of a website within the browser, speeding up website performance. HTML5 local storage. This allows you to save or "cache" website data within your browser so that when you revisit the website, the HTML5 page data can be saved and retrieved.

Our company, our service providers, and third parties with whom we partner, including advertising networks, may use cross-device / cross-context tracking. For example, you may use multiple browsers on one device or use various devices (desktop, smartphone, tablet, etc.), resulting in having multiple accounts or profiles across different contexts and devices. Cross-device / cross-context technologies may be used to connect these various accounts or profiles with corresponding data from different contexts and devices.

3.         How to use cookies

We use first-party and third-party cookies to recognize you as a Harara customer, customize our content and advertisements, measure the effectiveness of promotions, collect information about your computer or other access device, mitigate risk, prevent fraud, and promote trust and security.

We use information about your visits to other websites to target third-party services advertising products and services offered by HALARA . We may place cookies from our providers. We have no control over the types of information collected and stored by these third-party cookies. For more information on how cookies are used, please check the third-party website.

The following are examples of the information we collect and how we use it:

  • We may collect and store details about how you use our services. Except in limited cases necessary to ensure the quality of our services over the internet, this information will not be associated with your IP address.
  • To better understand your behavior and improve our services, we may collect information such as your language, guessed zip code or area code, unique device identifier, referring URL , location, and time zone.

4.         Types of cookies

We may use the following types of cookies in this service:

5.         Privacy Options

Browser Controls . You can configure or change your web browser settings to accept or reject cookies. Even if you choose to reject cookies, you can still use our services, although access to some features and areas may be restricted. To learn the correct way to change your browser settings, use your browser's "Help," "Tools," or "Edit" menu, or refer to the instructions provided by your browser below:

Opting Out of Third-Party Analytics We may use third-party service providers, such as Google Analytics , to monitor and analyze the use of our online, web-based, and mobile-based services . Google Analytics is an analytics service provided by Google LLC (" Google ") that tracks and reports on website traffic. For more information on Google 's privacy practices, see the Google Privacy and Terms webpage ( https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en ). To opt out of Google Analytics, or to prevent Google Analytics from collecting and using your data, see https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout .

Do Not Track signal. Currently, we do not monitor or take any action regarding Do Not Track signals or other mechanisms. This means that we collect information about your online activity both while you are using the service and after you leave the service.

Disable most interest-based advertising . Many advertising companies that collect information for interest-based advertising are members of the Digital Advertising Alliance ( DAA ) or the Network Advertising Initiative ( NAI ). To opt out of interest-based advertising on websites provided by companies participating in each organization, please visit the DAA opt-out portal ( http://optout.aboutads.info/ ) or the NAI opt-out portal ( http://optout.networkadvertising.org/?c=1 ). If you live in the European Union ( EU ), you can opt out of online behavioral targeting advertising provided by member companies of the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance (https://www.youronlinechoices.eu/ ). Note that in order to disable advertising cookies, some third parties may need to set opt-out cookies on your device. For example, depending on your device settings, such third parties may not be able to set such cookies, for example, if your device is set to block all third-party cookies by default. In other words, to completely disable advertising cookies, you may need to change your device settings to accept cookies.

Mobile app advertising . When you use our mobile applications, we or our marketing partners may use one or more of your mobile device identifiers, including Apple Identifier for Advertising ( IDFA ) or Android Advertising ID ( AAID ), to deliver targeted ads to you in our apps or other apps. In other words, your device identifiers may be accessed by third-party ad networks and used to (a) help manage the number and types of ads you see, (b) track the origin of installs related to ads you see in other apps, and (c) identify your interests and behaviors and target ads to you based on those interests and behaviors.

Apple requires app developers to request permission before tracking your behavior across apps or websites they don't own, in order to target ads to you, measure your behavior through ads, or share your information with data brokers. If you previously granted our mobile app permission to track you, you can tell our app to stop tracking your activity. On iOS or iPadOS , tap our app in Settings and tap Allow Tracking to turn it off. You can also reset your IDFA from your mobile device's settings page. This will prevent the continued use of existing behavioral data associated with your previous IDFA .

If you have an Android device running Android 12 or later, you can permanently remove your AAID by opening Settings, going to Privacy > Ads, tapping Remove Ad ID , and then tapping again on the next page to confirm. No apps on your phone will be able to access your AAID anymore . Please note that while ads will still be displayed after removal, they will not be tailored to your interests.

Additionally, while not tailored to our mobile application, you can access industry-provided opt-out tools. For example, to opt out of data collection for interest-based advertising across your mobile application by participating Digital Advertising Alliance ( DAA ) member companies, download the DAA 's App Choices Mobile Application Opt-Out Service at https://youradchoices.com/appchoices .

For more information about your privacy rights, please see our Privacy Policy.
